CHARCUTERIE // Sharing what I'm sippin' on this Fall...

Hey ya'll! It's _____! Haha you know the rest! As it turns out Portland is pretty darn cold this time of year and I'm definitely feeling it in my bones! So when I was asked to share my favorite fall inspired beverage and hors d'oeuvres as part of a fun Sips + Shares collaboration with the fabulous TIFFANY BLACKMON and her friends....I knew it HAD to have cozy vibes written all over it.

You probably wouldn't have guessed it but I am a total granny. I am all about sipping on some hot veggie broth. Is that weird? Broth is so COMFORTING. And it's carb free - so like, how can you go wrong? If you are like me and more into the savory side of life, I think you are going to enjoy this over a cup of tea any day!

Now you know I'm making a cheese plate to pair with my yummy broth and I am The Platter Girl so any gathering I'm hosting HAS to have one. Here is what I have been craving so far this fall -->

Tomato Basil Broth with Spicy Pimento Dip + Simple Fall Inspired Cheese Plate

I N G R E D I E N T S :

Millie's Tomato Basil Vegetable Sipping Broth. Millie's is an awesome local Pacific Northwest company started by a teacher who wanted a smarter snack in between classes. GENIUS! I love a good savory snack over something sweet especially when I'm working so these little sippable broth bags are the perfect answer in my humble opinion :)

To make the broth add one bag to 8 ounces of hot water. Let it sit for about 4 minutes then stir and enjoy!

Now on to the MAIN EVENT - The cheese plate!

BOARD / PLATTER - I used a rectangular shaped marble board from Acacia Creations - it is simply gorgeous and a really nice size for a 2-3 person plate. Use my CODE LEA-15 for 15% off your first order.

My "Eat Beautifully" Method for building the actual board:

Step One : Cheese + Dishes

Step Two: Meats

Step Three: Fruit + Veggies

Step Four: Yummy Goodness

Step Five: Garnish + Take a pic

Cheeses:

  • Italian Truffle Cheese

  • Tillamook Black Peppercorn Cheddar

  • Trader Joes Mustard + Ale Cheddar

  • Creamy Gouda Slices

  • Trader Joe's Spicy Pimento Dip

Dips:

  • Naturacentric Mission Fig Honey

  • Kelly's Jelly Strawberry Habanero

Meat:

  • Peppered Salami, made into a rose

  • Dry Coppa, made into a rose

Fruit + Veggies:

  • Cucumbers, sliced into rounds

  • Blueberries

  • Fresh Figs, cut in half

  • Thomcord Seedless Grapes

Yummy Goodness:

  • Rosemary thin crackers

  • Dried Figs, sliced

  • Dried Clementines

  • Dried Apricots

  • Sweet + Spicy Pecans

  • White chocolate covered mini Oreos

  • Whole Castelvetrano Olives

Garnish:

  • Fresh Basil

  • Chamomile flowers

  • Dahlia buds

Arrange your cheeses and your dishes first. I always consider the size and shape of my board when choosing the number of cheeses I will use as well as the number of ramekins and other little dishes I use. For this first base layer, you are really just creating a foundation for the rest of the board.

Next, add in some styled meats. You can roll your salami into roses like I did, or just fold the salami in half, then in half again, and place directly on the board. You can also fold them and stick them on a skewer for a gorgeous salami skewer look.

Now is time for your fruits and your veggies. I kept it really simple with this plate and chose some seasonal crunchy produce like cucumbers and some beautiful fresh green figs, plus gorgeous Thomcord grapes - They are so tasty!

Ok - Yummy Goodness. This is where you can really have some fun and play with the theme. Lately, I have been snacking on these little dried clementine oranges from Trader Joes - it's sort of becoming a problem! I love the pop of orange color they bring to this plate. I also added in my favorite spicy nuts also from TJ's - the yummy sweet and spicy pecans!

Lastly, the garnish. I love a natural look of dropping fresh herbs right on top of the cheeses. I used basil on this one to help tie in the pretty greens from the olives and cucumbers. PERFECTO!

Cheers to you all! I hope you are finding your cozy place this fall!
